With this, the Henderson Wave Bridge, considered one of the last icons built in this city, for their particular design with undulating forms, allows for different perspectives of the city and the characteristic landscapes of the south of the Republic, as well as Heartlands, the sea and the central business district.
With 36 meters above Henderson Road, Henderson Wave Bridge is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. Its construction was subject to connect the hills of Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill.
Although different ages to the Great Bridge Canal in Venice, Henderson Wave Bridge is an excellent example of a pedestrian structure, elegant and functional moderao.
Open since 2008, the bridge spans 300 meters on Henderson Road.
Henderson Wave Bridge is located in the mountains south of Singapore, connecting to a beautiful stretch of 9 km gardens consist mainly of three parks: Mount Faber, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Kent Ridge Park, which are often compared to Central Park in New York. El puente esta diseñado a partir de una forma única integrada por siete curvas onduladas composite steel-ribs "that alternately rise above and below deck. La-curved ribs generate small spaces in the form of niches that serve as shelters with seats within.
The roof and sides were lined with strips of yellow Balau wood, a material unique in Southeast Asia, in order to unify the structure by means of texture, color and tone of the finish. Another significant feature of this work of art, are the dimensions of the slats that mark the height at which you meet along the bridge. Under
been built with a lot of wood, the National Parks [NParks], who is in charge of maintenance of the structure, smoking has been banned for security reasons, still considered an outdoor space.
